Haze Performance is proud to offer our new line of Stainless Steel Flex Coupler with Interlock Liner! Our Couplers have three core components: an interlock liner for enhanced flow characteristics of exhaust gases, a braid made of stainless steel wire cross-woven together to provide increased strength of the coupler, and a Reinforcing Ring to bond the braid to the liner and form the main body of the coupler.

Why 316L for your Stainless Steel Flex Coupler with Interlock Liner

1. Corrosion Resistance: 316L contains 2-3% molybdenum, which gives it superior resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion compared to 304, especially in environments exposed to salts, seawater, or chlorides.
2. Lower Carbon Content: 316L is the low-carbon version of 316, meaning it has less than 0.03% carbon. This lower carbon content minimizes the risk of carbon precipitation during welding, which can lead to intergranular corrosion (also called weld decay).
3. Heat Resistance: Both 316L and 304 offer good oxidation resistance, but 316L performs slightly better in high-temperature environments, especially when chloride-containing solutions or gases are present.
